IN BRIEF

 

Once it was decided that ASD16 would not be held in China, Stephane Lambert and its Team welcomed Yves Jeanneau and its Team to visit Bangkok, for the first time and assess the potential for an ASD in Thailand. Thanks to early support of the French Embassy, TCEB and the The National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations it was not long before the decision was made to organise the 7th edition of the documentary film market in Bangkok.

BEHIND THE SCENE

17 - 22 sept Bangkok 2016

Asian Side of the Doc Workshop & Master Class for Asean producers

The aim is to give ASEAN producers and directors:

 

  • a better understanding of their own project and it’s international potential

  • advice on marketing and pitching their project

  • an overview of who’s who in the international market (in terms of broadcasters, funders, sales agents, and production companies for co-production relationships)

 

Workshop Contents:

  • ​Analyze and criticism of the projects ; research of the axes of development*

  • Work on the “Marketing” of the projects: teaser** / logline / title

  • Presentation of the different possibilities offered on the International Market for selected projects; contacts and examples

  • 3 case studies of international coproductions relevant for the selected projects

  • The “Art of Pitching”: at the end of the training, each project’s holder will do a public pitch in front of Thai decision makers (producer, distributor, broadcaster…)


 * each tutor will monitor 2 or 3 projects more specifically, but all tutors will work on all projects
 ** each project holder

Master Class topics include:

  • Trends of the International Market

  • Who does What? (roles of broadcasters, producers, sales agents, funders, etc)

  • Places to be & alternative funding opportunities

  • The Art of Pitching

The film follows the adventures of Gogoing, the Chinese rising star of League of Legends and his team OMG in their quest to unseat the once invincible Korean team to become world champions.

 

Gogoing’s mentor is Moon, the Korean ‘legend,’ who witnessed Esports becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Today, 28 year-old Moon has just retired from competition and is trying to reinvent his life in the city of Seoul, the capital of eSports.

Was organized at the Alliance Française to screen an internationally acclaimed documentary.

  • “Ways to School” presented by its producer Bathélémy Fougea (Winds, France).
